Collision Repair - Spray In Bedliners

1. Initial Contact

The first step on your way to getting your vehicle repaired is to meet with our Body Shop Manager or Technicians. You will be asked a few qualifying questions about the accident and how you intend to pay for the damages. As always our estimates are free. We may also discuss:

How the repair process will proceed if you have your vehicle repaired by Norfolk Motor Company Body Shop.

  • Rental vehicle options
  • Any insurance questions

We will make certain you are comfortable and fully informed prior to the start of your repairs. If you choose to repair your vehicle with us we will schedule you an appointment that works best for you!

2. Estimation Process

While you are speaking with our Body Shop Manager or Technicians they will do a minor disassembly in order to discover any hidden damage and verify that your vehicle is safe for you to continue to drive. Once we have gathered all the information we will upload it into our computer generated estimating software that will give you the true estimate with a dollar amount. Once you have agreed to repairing your vehicle with Norfolk Motor Company Body Shop we will work with your insurance company to complete any and all paperwork for you.

3. Metal Repair Process

Once your vehicle comes to our shop for repairs we will first inspect all of the parts in comparison to your vehicle, this ensures that you will get back the same looking vehicle as it was prior to the accident. Then one of our ASE Certified metal technicians will complete all of the body work in accordance with your vehicle’s OEM guidelines. As part of the repair we will inspect for any additional damage that could have been missed during the initial estimate and make certain there is no structure damage that could lead to ill fitting parts or damage further down the road. We will then prime the repaired area and get it ready to be painted.

4. Paint Process

When the vehicle arrives at our paint department we will mask off any areas that we do not want to be painted. Our technicians will then prep all of the repaired panels in order to ensure that the paint will have a flawless finish, free of dust or debris. When the vehicle is ready to be sprayed with our Axalta Paint we will pull it into our state of the art, IR material drying paint booths where we will apply the proper amount of paint in accordance with your vehicle's OEM specifications. When the paint is cured we will move onto the next step, which in most cases would be hours away from returning it to you, the customer.

5. Buff and Reassembly

When your vehicle comes out of the paint booth we will then buff the painted area to remove any “dirt nibs” that may have been in the paint. At this time we will also inspect the paint color and texture to ensure that it matches the unpainted panels of your vehicle. Once the buffing is completed we will begin reassembly on your vehicle. When reassembly is completed the technician will inspect the repaired area to ensure proper fit, color, and test drive the vehicle to guarantee that you are getting back the best quality possible.
